There is positive news from Cradley Heath this week, where start-up company Sovereign Independent Marketing is assisting Sandwell Council with its 'Moving Forward' project.
Telemarketing and training company Sovereign Independent Marketing in Cradley Heath has only been going for 18 months, but is already giving something back to Sandwell.
Aware of the high levels of unemployment in the area, managing director Martin Huburn recently contacted Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council to see how Sovereign could be of help to the community.
"I see unemployment every day during my commute to and from work at Riddins Mound," he said. "This led me to contact Sandwell Council to find out how we could maybe provide back-to-work skills to the unemployed, people being laid off, and also for youth offenders that require guidance, direction and a second chance."
Thanks to Martin's enquiry, Sovereign has since become an approved supplier to Sandwell Council and will soon be providing free telemarketing, customer services, motivation and direct sales workshops to Sandwell people, as part of the Council's 'Moving Forward' project.
Martin intends to extend the support further. "We also want to set up business contacts to offer our attendees either work experience or even placements," he said. "And hopefully tie in with some of the bigger call centres and employment agencies across Birmingham and the Black Country."
If you're interested in speaking to Martin or signing up for one of the workshops, you can contact him on 01384 635 234.
