Huge opportunity for architects at Growing Green

Date added: 25 February 2010

Have you signed up for our Growing Green event yet? Hundreds of companies from across the Midlands are descending on West Bromwich on Thursday 18 March, to find out how they can tap into the 'green' market, win more business, do their bit for the environment AND reduce their bottom-line expenditure.

With prestigious seminars delivered by speakers from Westinghouse, the Royal Institute of British Architects, Birmingham City Council, BRE and Rolls Royce plc (to name just a few) and exhibitors from high-profile organisations that include Balfour Beatty, Carillion, Interserve, Vinci and Thomas Vale, it promises to be a landmark day for the Midlands' supply chain. What's more, it's free to attend.

You can download the latest flyer and itinerary here.

There are exciting updates to our plans almost every day, and our latest big news will appeal greatly to architects, designers and construction professionals ...

We're delighted to tell you that the project team and decision makers behind Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS's forthcoming green flagship building - the landmark £380m acute hospital - will be showcasing their plans and exhibiting at Growing Green. And they're hoping to meet architects, designers and construction firms interested in bidding for the work.

The current vision for the 17-acre NHS site on Grove Lane in Smethwick is to provide patients with the best facilities in the country. The blueprint features a Bullring-style underground car park and about 700 beds, while catering for 98,000 in-patients and 178,000 out-patient appointments each year.

The images shown here are just schematic models and not final designs. The design stage tender is due to go out in the autumn (2010), and so interested architects and designers are encouraged to speak directly to the project team for this NHS project, at Growing Green.

All you need to do is attend the event (taking place at the Bethel Convention Centre in West Bromwich - sign up now), and visit the Right Care Right Here exhibition stand being managed by the project team.

Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to make your mark on the future of Sandwell and West Birmingham's health care!
