Aims of our WISE event
We want our WISE event to help Midlands women by:
* inspiring them to take their ideas to the next level, whether they're growing existing businesses or just starting out
* providing expert advice relating to the feasibility of their ideas
* helping them to gain access to funding for start-ups and premises
* providing the information and support they may need to overcome specific fears and obstacles in business
* offering networking opportunities with other WISE women
* encouraging established WISE women to mentor and offer support to others.

Ashworth, Jackie
Jackie runs Success Train Ltd with Roy Casey (Chairman of the Black Country Constructing Excellence Club). They offer bespoke training, coaching, and neurolinguistic programming (NLP) services to help the development of individuals and teams. Jackie's presentation on the day will cover what has to happen in your mind to bring an idea to fruition, how to turn your business ideas into a compelling vision and set business goals that motivate and inspire you to think in the right way in order to achieve them. She will also discuss how learning to master your thoughts and behaviours can help to overcome obstacles along the way. One-to-one sessions can be booked with Jackie in the Springboard where you can discuss creating your own vision and how to make it a reality.

Gillian is Senior Business Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland, who will be attending our WISE event alongside two more representatives from RBS (Mel Stokes and Ami Ranu) - offering one-to-one advice sessions on the bank's start-up offer for new businesses.

The Black Country Enterprise is a subsidiary of the Black Country Chamber of commerce and provides support and training for individuals and small businesses just starting up.

Black Country Enterprise Loan Fund
The Black Country Enterprise Loan Fund is an independent trust that provides loans to Black Country enterprises. Each year it helps 40 or 50 businesses to secure the finance they need to start up or grow.
Black Country Reinvestment Society
The Black Country Reinvestment Society offers loans to meet the needs of local businesses which make a positive contribution to the social, environmental or economic wellbeing of the region.
Sandwell Council's business engagement team is here to give you a friendly, informative 'way in' to dealing with the Council and accessing all of the free support and guidance available to you. You can read about the team's recent achievements here.

Business Link offers free advice and support to potential, new and established businesses throughout the UK, providing both an online portal (www.businesslink.gov.uk) and advisers working at a local level.

Jo is co-founder and director of Women On Their Way Ltd, supporting women's progression with training, events and seminars. Jo will share with you her unique story and inspire you with some simple tips and techniques to help you develop your own route to success.
Jo didn't have a business background before starting out a few years ago, and has learned some very valuable lessons that she is willing to share with you. Her talk will include:
* the 'no-loss model' (helping to curb women's tendency to 'overthink' about things)
* getting rid of the money gremlins (as Jo says many women do have difficulties discussing money)
* dealing with rejection (making those calls!)
* modelling yourself on those you aspire to be.

With over 20 years' experience and research into motivational best practice, people management and corporate leadership, Sue is able to help leaders and business owners engage their people to work towards mutually beneficial goals and outputs.

Marverine is a born-and-bred Brummie, a freelance news presenter and your MC for the WISE event. She is the co-owner of Great Barr-based Fünf Media - a video production company which is currently helping us to create podcasts for finditinsandwell.
Marv will give a media skills 'masterclass' at the WISE event, showing you how to get the media interested in your business when you have a story to tell, and how to prepare yourself for a radio or TV interview.

* the vision for the future regarding Sandwell's education policy
* the use of IT and intelligent-learning devices as part of the curriculum
* exciting opportunities for Sandwell's young people
* how investments made through the government's Building Schools for the Future programme should inspire young people to succeed in their education, and help to create a a confident, fully prepared and IT-savvy future workforce for the borough.

Midlands Workplace Wellbeing is a local company providing an affordable and professional workplace wellbeing service, including stress management, health and safety, occupational health services and holistic therapies.
Netbus
The finditinsandwell Netbus is a purpose-built vehicle equipped with eight workstations, three wireless-enabled laptops, audiovisual equipment, a wide range of software and satellite-enabled broadband. It acts as a cost-effective mobile training centre for Sandwell companies, travelling to their doorsteps to train staff, offer recruitment support, procurement assistance and general business guidance.

Rose, Sammy
Sammy runs Sammy Rose Management Services, a Rowley Regis firm which offers practical marketing solutions that are specifically geared towards small to medium-sized enterprises. Sammy has worked with finditinsandwell extensively, helping to design our schools engagement programmes and delivering marketing seminars for finditinsandwell members. Sammy will be offering one-to-one sessions alongside her associate consultant Dr Jenny Illingsworth.
Jenny also works with the University of Birmingham's School of Engineering (indeed, her career began with product design, technology and manufacture), seeing that the technology developed in the School is utilised by companies, both locally and nationally. She achieves this thanks to links with various support agencies, including the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS).

Schools engagement
So we can engage with budding young female entrepreneurs from Sandwell schools, we are teaming up with the Sandwell EBP (Education Business Partnership) to compile a survey - 'What women want' - for teams of students to carry out at the event.
Students from Years 11 or 12 have already signed up to take part from:
* St Michael's CE High School (a business and enterprise college)
* George Salter Collegiate Academy
* Alexandra High School and Sixth Form Centre.
Students from these schools will use their survey results to deliver reports and presentations to the finditinsandwell team in October. The winners will each be rewarded with a mini camcorder.
