Business keeps moving in the One Stop Shop

Date added: 21 June 2010

We're delighted to be receiving lots of great feedback about our One Stop Shop exhibition space. Every Friday, we allow a local firm to showcase its products and services to hundreds of council employees and visitors passing through Sandwell Council House. By championing the fantastic firms right here on our doorsteps, we encourage people to shop closer to home.

Recently we heard from Doreth Abrahams of the Utility Warehouse Discount Club and Richard Woodward of Hometyre, who both won business by taking up finditinsandwell's offer of a free exhibition stand for a day.

Our most recent One Stop Shop success story comes from Tipton family company Addison Tyres Ltd, which supplies tyres and alloys to the public at discount prices. Managing director Jason Addison, who set up the stand, said his firm has already received many enquiries and also welcomed ten council employees to his depot where they purchased tyres.

"As we work on a low-profit margin we depend on a high volume of sales to make the business work," explained Jason. "So we appreciate the extra business we have received from council staff."

And this isn't Addison Tyres' only recent finditinsandwell success.

"We met Gary, the director of GL Mastics Ltd at the finditinsandwell breakfast meeting in May. They have now set up an account with us and are pleased with our service and prices. They have a fleet of vehicles which we are now supplying tyres for," said Jason.

In the past, we've also been pleased to celebrate Addison Tyres' commitment to raising money for children's leukaemia charities: check out what they did at Merry Hill last year!

Well done to Addison Tyres - and everyone else who has taken advantage of our One Stop Shop offer. If you're interested in exhibiting, please email maria_kyriacou@sandwell.gov.uk for available dates.
