Calling all subcontractors and builders! Have you signed up for our Growing Green event next month? There you can hear about some huge work opportunities coming up in the Midlands very soon - and find out first-hand how to bid for them.
On Thursday 18 March, hundreds of designers, engineers, buyers and business professionals are descending on West Bromwich to find out how they can tap into the multi-billion pound 'green' market, win more business, do their bit for the environment AND reduce their bottom-line expenditure.
This free-to-attend event is expected to attract hundreds of architects, engineers, buyers and business professionals, all hoping to learn about emerging environmental products and find innovative companies to produce and implement them. Not only will the day forge stronger links in the West Midlands’ supply chain, it also promises to bring exciting construction opportunities.
We're delighted to tell you that Birmingham City Council will be there to launch its 'Green New Deal'. This is a five-year investment project to improve energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, with a target of 25,000 private and public sector houses and 1000 small business premises across the city receiving a refurbishment between now and March 2015.
The project aims to co-ordinate the retrofitting of houses and businesses in Birmingham, driving reductions in Co2 emmissions and tackling fuel poverty (while maximising job creation and business growth).
And that could be excellent news for companies such as yours! In two special seminars on the day, the Green New Deal team will tell you all about the scheme, their timelines, and what types of environmental goods and services they'll be looking for. Their supply list is almost certainly going to include renewables, energy-efficient building products, fitting, property maintenance, home security and fire safety.
The Green New Deal work is due to start this spring (2010) and so interested construction firms and manufacturers are encouraged to attend the seminars at Growing Green and speak directly to the Green New Deal project team.
All you need to do is attend the event (taking place at the Bethel Convention Centre in West Bromwich - sign up now), and visit the Birmingham City Council exhibition stand.
Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to make your mark on the green future of Birmingham!
