Wates Construction to get involved with SDR

Building heavyweight Wates Construction has joined the impressive list of main contractors who are helping to boost the competitiveness of the region's SMEs, by supporting finditintheblackcountry's Skills Development Recognition (SDR) training.
Wates Construction joins other construction giants Balfour Beatty, Interserve, Laing O'Rourke, Morgan Sindall, Skanska, Thomas Vale Construction and VINCI in supporting SDR, an affordable two-day training scheme which coaches you in creating a first-class PQQ (prequalification questionnaire) and online risk assessment.
SDR helps local businesses position themselves in great stead for winning contracts. Costing just £250 + VAT for two days of invaluable guidance - and accreditation assessment at the end - it is suitable for firms in every sector.
Thanks to all the big-name contractors who are backing SDR, local businesses are under less pressure to sign up for more expensive accreditation programmes. You can read lots of brilliant feedback on SDR in this finditinsandwell article from the autumn.
Representatives from Wates Construction, the principal contractor tasked with building the new Tesco store in Walsall will attend our February 2012 sessions (taking place on Thursday 2 and Thursday 16) to give delegates advice and guidance on submitting the kind of PQQ responses that their buyers want to see.
Wates Construction has a turnover of £1bn and a proven track record in the building sector for education, prisons, local authority frameworks, heritage, commercial and mixed-use developments.
If you'd like to supply to Wates in the future, or boost your firm's tendering skills and improve your risk profile in the eyes of big clients like Wates, sign up for SDR training here [opens in a new window].
