finditinsandwell is a GO Awards finalist!

The stars may be out on the red carpets but it's not only awards season in Hollywood, you know! There are several prestigious ceremonies coming up for people and projects in the UK public sector. The finditinsandwell team is a proud finalist in the LGC Awards in March - and we've just been shortlisted for a Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Award too.

We're up for 'Best Supplier Engagement Initiative of the Year' in the 2012/13 GO Awards for our work in making the tendering process easier and clearer for buyers and suppliers alike.

Alongside procurement experts Success Train and web designers IceBlue, we've created an innovative online standard prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) and accompanying training course (Skills Development Recognition - SDR) to unravel the mysteries surrounding the bidding process. Over 350 local businesses have passed the training so far, with several winning work afterwards for which they would otherwise have struggled to compete.

The GO Awards organisers have called the competition "intense", with each entry "subjected to a high level of scrutiny from our judging panel", so we're delighted to have made the grade. But not surprised ... finditinsandwell already has a string of awards (including LGC, APSE and RegenWM) and shortlisted nominations (MJ Achievement, Builder & Engineer (twice), WMCCE and Celebrating Construction Excellence) and we're up for another LGC (Local Government Chronicle) Award next month.

Awards of course aren't everything - it's what you do the rest of the year that counts. But it's great to have our hard work and the contributions of our partner organisations officially recognised.

Members of the finditinsandwell team will be attending the GO Awards ceremony on Tuesday 13 March at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel. We'll let you know how we get on!
