Environmental Business Advice
This service is available to any business in Sandwell who has any query or would like advice or information on environmental issues, such as waste disposal, recycling, reducing energy use, environmental legislation or environmental management.
The Environmental Business Adviser will deal with specific queries, or can visit business premises to advise on the best ways of addressing environmental issues whilst, at the same time, reducing costs and potentially increasing competitiveness of the business.
Guidance notes and information leaflets are available on a wide range of environmental issues, including new and proposed pieces of legislation, as well as contacts in a variety of environmental and business support organisations. This helps ensure that any advice is provided quickly and is the most up-to-date available.
Any business with a query on an environmental issue, or wanting further information about this service, should contact:

Available Booklets
There are 2 booklets produced by the Environmental Business Adviser which may be of use to a new business starting up in the area, or even to an established business.
“How To Comply With The Regulations”
This guides businesses through the different pieces of legislation which they may need to comply with when setting up in business. It asks questions to help identify the legislation relevant to a business, and provides details of the most appropriate sources of information in each case.
“Directory of Environmental Advice for Businesses”
This booklet provides a summary of the services offered by the various environmental and business support organisations in Sandwell, and gives details of how to contact them. Businesses with specific problems can use the matrix at the front to quickly identify the organisation they need to speak to.
Both of these are available free of charge.
